Philosophy & Principles Versus Organized Religion

 Aloha & Happy Sabado,

A fact that is incredibly hard to dispute is that organized religion (no matter the type of practice/origins/beliefs) has been one of the most divisive constructs/tools used by man in human history to start wars since the beginning of time. Whether recognized on an international level or in the United States for the "war on drugs" or "war on racism", underlying alliance to religious groups is an incredibly powerful mechanism. Quite often, if the stakes are high enough, folks abandon doing the right/moral action, in favor of belonging to a religious group/cult and 'following the crowd' (including corrupt politicians and many CEOs, of course!). These groups also include the strict veganism sector, which I consider a type of religion (as do many others!). It is kind of funny/ironic to me that corrupt politicians 'swear' on the bible.. haha, as to establish credibility and gain followers! Hey, these days, we gotta laugh. Many of us have cried enough tears over the current state of the world.

As a young girl, I was raised Catholic and often spoke openly of my relationship with God (defending the existence of him/her to atheists, quite often to my teasing aunts and uncles). When I turned 18 and realized, gosh, no god would save me, I took it on myself to forage my own path of strength and building my skills/self, questioning the universe periodically over the past 25 years: "Is there a God"? (As many people do!) At the end of the day, I've determined prayer does absolutely nothing (except provide personal temporary relief) - you gotta do things yourself. However, positive action (accompanied by good vibes) - that's where making progress and true healing for the human race truly lies.

As an adult, I took a deep dive into spirituality/my 'higher power' a few years ago, after I finished the 2022 edition of Ultraman Canada. In addition to studying chakras and vibrational medicine modalities, I discovered the Huna Philosophy from a mentor in my life. I immediately began to study it and incorporate the principles into my life - many of which I utilize today.

Excerpted directly from an internet search on Brave.com, below is an overview of the principles:

**Huna philosophy is a spiritual system that originated in Hawaii and is based on seven principles. These principles are designed to help individuals understand the world and navigate through life. The philosophy emphasizes the importance of consciousness, positive thinking, and harmony with nature.

Ike: The world is what you think it is, emphasizing the power of thoughts and perceptions in shaping reality.

Kala: There are no limits, everything is possible, highlighting the idea that limitations are often self-imposed and that possibilities are endless.

Makia: Energy flows where attention goes, suggesting that focus and attention can direct energy and shape outcomes.

Manawa: Now is the moment of power, emphasizing the importance of living in the present moment and taking action.

Aloha: To love is to be happy with, highlighting the importance of love, compassion, and acceptance in achieving happiness.

Mana: All power comes from within, suggesting that individuals have the power to shape their own lives and destinies.

Pono: Effectiveness is the measure of truth, emphasizing the importance of taking action and assessing outcomes to determine what is true and effective.

No matter how you practice, what you practice, consider weaving these beautiful, effective principles into your life.

For me, guiding principles centered on love seem just what the world needs now!

With Aloha,

Heidi
