Simple Journaling Exercise

 Dear Reader,

Happy Lunes!

Over the past 35 years, I've journaled my thoughts, mostly with pen and paper. Nowadays, I also utilize my Apple iPhone Journal app, but, nonetheless, my ultimate preference is paper and pen. Used as a gratitude practice, I like stepping away from tech and feeling the paper in my hand - it feels more connecting to myself than using a search bar to find a journal entry.

Crafted over many years, my practice has evolved to a simple outline, which include the following items:

  1. Words of the Day
  2. Intentions
  3. Gratitude List (past & present)
  4. QOTD (quote of the day)
  5. SOTD (song of the day)
  6. WINS/Funny reflections

One thing that I will do with my journal practice is put it on pause, if I need to. While I enjoy daily journaling, I go through phases where it begins to feel forced, so I lay off, taking off the pressure. I urge you to do the same... remember there's a reason it's called a 'practice' - not perfection.

May you have a wonderful week ahead.

With Aloha,

Heidi
