Book Series Sneak Peek: Adventures Along the California Coast with Bruno Mars
Aloha Reader,
Last summer, as I was generating book ideas, a fun simple one came to mind. It was inspired by a few books I read myself that summer—> to write my story through the lens of my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Bruno Mars.
With Bruno Mars by my side, I began to outline our journey together, from the moment he was delivered by a nice gentleman in a van, driving all the way from the Buckeye State.
The entire Bruno Mars series collection is called: "Adventures Along the California Coast - Tales from Bruno Mars: America's Favorite Therapy Dog" and begins with us meeting each other in April of 2024.
Chapter 1: Meeting Mom
After a 15-hour car ride from Centerville, Ohio, with many stops so I could pee a shake my furry Berner butt, I arrived at my new mom's home in Redwood City, CA. Weighing in at a hearty 17.5 pounds at 9 weeks old, I was a very healthy puppy. As soon as my driver picked me up out of his van, I began to wiggle with excitement. I was told my mom was the best fit for me, that she was a rockstar, who didn't need a guitar, but wow, that was an understatement.
As soon as I was placed in her arms, I fell instantly in love. She was so cuddly, warm and her smile lit up the bustling neighborhood when she saw me. She carried me up to her apartment, which was an expensive 850 square feet of play space. Gosh, here I finally was in my new home. She set up food and water bowls. My driver gave my mom instructions, a small container of kibble and they talked for a little while. My goodness, my nose could pick up some yummy, delicious scents...
Immediately, my curious nature took over my new environment and I puttered around anywhere I could, sniffing everywhere. After my mom handed my driver two beverages: a Kombucha and a Red Bull (yes, she is the nicest, most generous person I know), my driver said goodbye and wished us both well. Then he went on his way to deliver more of my doggie friends to lucky owners.
Little did I realize it, but this new home was just our starter home. After 10 days of house training, my mom said "F**k the BS (once again), and we hit the road."

Well, reader, there it is! A book snippet for you :-) For the children's version, please know the 'f' bomb will be replaced with fudge.
Enjoy your Wednesday, everyone.
