Gooooood morning, Vietnam!

Hello Everyone,

In honor of our Vietnam vets (and one of our greatest comedians of all times, Robin Williams; his ultimate demise due to soul-sucking self-serving a-holes), please enjoy one of my favorite Spotify playlists! We can't cannot change the past, but what we can do is reframe and honor those who served.

I dedicate this post to my great Uncle Julian and all others who served in the Vietnam War. It was a pure disgrace how you were treated by the US Gov't and many Americans when you returned from your service. Even though I was not born until 1982, as a young girl I was witness to the severe psychological impact it had on you, by getting to know my Uncle Julian at family gatherings on a small property nearby to where I grew up in Connecticut.

My great uncle Julian is my late grandmother Barb's brother. He also crafted amazing kaleidoscopes, which, if I close my eyes, can still picture to this day, remembering how the slowly-crafted wands, felt in my kid hands as I turned them to the sunny sky above. I didn't spend much time with him as a young child, but he was always kind to me. After he married a nice woman, he moved away from the family. His brother, Lucian, is also a wonderful person.

On a light, musical note, I gotta state it again: the 1970s... is one of the best musical decades, with the 1980s playing a close second!

Be well,

Heidi
