Reallocating Resources: Macy's
Aloha Reader!
One of the many ideas I generated over this past winter was a true corporate giveback program.
It's easy to observe when you step into a Macy's store simply how much inventory is sitting on shelves! Macy's has been utilizing marketing legal loopholes for their business practices for years, taking unfair advantage of unsuspecting consumers, with targeted marketing... so why not have some fun, Macy's, and truly give back to America and take the first step?! :) Maybe as a corporation, you can be a leader? A true one in America, helping to reverse the curse of the toxic male patriarchy?
Macy’s, let’s especially think of the children - making sure they're warm for the winter and there are no holes in their shoes, boots & clothing. We definitely need them all zipped up and warm for Sunday school. Snow is falling almost everywhere in the good 'ol US of A!
Keeping it simple and fair, may I suggest a bartering system where both US and worldwide citizens bring a used item of clothing or other and Macy's staff exchanges for the same type of item? Whether it be a pair of jeans, sunglasses or shoes. No tax impact - by either Macy's or the individual. Why add extra reporting IRS requirements? As an experienced tax practitioner, after the plandemic, it was nearly impossible to ahold of the IRS, anyway! So backed up, aren’t they? I am so happy neither me or my awesome staff don’t have to wait on hold anymore! Ah, another benefit of being on a well-deserved CPA break.
Just an idea, everyone! Let me know your thoughts!
Oh, and if there are any other BIG businesses who are interested in this type of exchange program, let's talk! There's absolutely no need for Goodwill/secondhand stores at this point in time. Sure, let's utilize these goods (“up-cycling”, as the phony ultra elitists like to dub it!), but there are lot of homeless people and under-served populations who are cold right now who can't afford new digs... why not pitch in and do your part, big business?
Next up, Big Food! I know plenty of people who could really utilize fresh food and would love to swap out their canned goods and boxed cereal for a stroll down your large aisles for nutritious foods. I’ve got a whole school of nutritionists who could pitch in as guides! Many don’t have fancy “RD” qualifications after their last name, but we can all agree FDA guidelines are BS now, can’t we? Ok then, let me know! I’ve got a a solid list of professional names in my pink sparkly binder handy. It’s been ready to go since last summer! :-) If you’d like public recognition, we’re all for that! Many of my colleagues have millions of social media followers.
With Tenacity & Good Vibes,
Heidi
